Woah! I love the new intro! The little tutorial is great too. The only thing I'd say is to move the sign that says press 'W' to jump a l;ttle more to the left, because you have to jump before you can actually see it.
If there is a way for you to make it so that you can't click outside of the game, that would be nice. There have been a few times when I was trying to shoot this turret and I accidentally clicked outside of the game and it got minimized.
So, what I'm talking about with the controls is having a screen in the pause menu that shows what buttons do what. For instance, it would have been helpful if I saw a screen that showed me that the 'W' key is used to jump.
So, the art-style definitely intrigues me. But I just could not figure out how to get past the first room for a long time. I think most people would have given up before I figured it out. Try and make the platforms that you can jump on stand out from the background more, so it's obvious that you have to jump on them. I would say, definitely get pause menu functionality in the game as soon as possible. And it would be REALLY helpful to see a screen that tells me what the controls are. And I would say take care with the camera shake. It's a bit disorienting.
But how long have you been working on this game?
So I started this project back in November but the most of progress has been done over the past 2 weeks during my winter holiday. Anyway, thanks for the feedback!
Okay, so I got to the 2nd area (the first 'checkpoint') and I think it's a bad idea to have turrets that shoot you from off-screen. I feel like I HAVE to die to even figure out how to deal with them. And it seems like the only way to kill them is while they're off-screen too. I don't like that.
I'm going to see how far I can get though, and I'll keep letting you know my thoughts along the way. I'll try not to be too harsh, but just know that I am in your shoes, so I know how it is, and I want to hopefully expose you to any blindspots that you may have.
